We have 2 main stores that we visit. One is like a 7 11 and the other I call "Walmart" even though it´s smaller than the smith´s by our house but it´s the biggest store that we have access to so yeah. And what is this "measurements" thing that you speak of. I don´t think they believe in that here in cape verde. Unless it´s a belief of the catholic church then they probably believe it but they don´t know why.
World cup ended yesterday so maybe we won´t have to worry about that distracting people anymore (Spain won in case you were wondering I could really care less). Ah rain. I can´t believe your thinking that rain is a downside. If it rains here that means the members are paying there tithing. and guess what... it hasn´t.
Well anyways this week has been ok. We have a baptism this Saturday so that's sweet. I don't remember if I wrote about him but here is what I have deciphered out of the Portuguese about how e. moreira and his previous companion found there family. So i´m pretty sure they were knocking doors in the area and the area they were in is like a gigantic apartment complex delio. There's like a little area in the middle that is kinda like a little park and it´s enclosed in by all the apartment buildings around it. anyways that's not important. They were knocking doors and it´s an apartment complex so when they knock a door its not like a persons house door its to get into the place where there doors are. Anyways. They were in one of the areas and they knocked on the door of this kid (jwilson) and his family. His mom answered the door and i´m paraphrasing here because I don't know Portuguese but She said something along the lines of "oh you have the word of God don´t you? Enter enter. And they did and started teaching this family and there really sweet. Jwilson is the one being baptized this Saturday and he´s 15ish I think. But jwilson is the man. He comes to church every week without us needing to remind him. He´s already living the law of fasting and last Sunday he brought 2 of his brothers to church and the other week he gave us 3 references of people to contact. And he´s already working on the goals in the aaronic priesthood pamphlet and on Saturday he taught a lesson about repentance to his family and we gave them the for the strength of the youth pamphlet and his dad (who hasn´t been in any of our lessons) really liked it and almost read the whole thing while we were there lol. Yeah so this week is his baptism and in 2 weeks his 2 brothers that he brought to church have a date scheduled along with another 1 of our investigators. So yeah we´re gonna be busy this week. We´ll I guess we should be busy every week but whatever. Oh and we have divisions today with the zone leaders. Well tomorrow but tonight and tomorrow so yeah. Um IDK what else is going on.
Well I love you all and I miss you but as someone in my zone in the MTC said "I get to spend eternity with my family and if I go home from my mission I could be taking that chance away from someone else"

Love always

Happy Independence Day everyone! Both American and CV. So to celebrate CV Independence Day the only thing I´ve seen so far is a commercial yesterday that had a cake and it played the happy birthday song in the background. We thought stores and stuff would be closed today like on other holidays but I guess not. So I´m starting to make a list of foods I miss in America or that I have no idea how to make (or if it’s even possible to make it here) so you´ll have plenty of things to make when I get home :D. This is probably the first time in my life that I´ve actually been hungry and now I don´t have all the yummy things we normally have in the fridge or pantry or wherever.
So here´s some things that happened this week. First we were walking to/from an appointment and we passed by 2 investigators of ours and a member that’s a fubeca and their little kids were playing together and one of them was running and tripped on the curb and fell and just laid there and didn´t cry and I was really surprised that there was no screaming or tears... and then the child of one of our investigators threw a rock about the size of my fist and hit him in the face and I´m not going to lie I had to stop myself from laughing. There defiantly were tears after that and the parent’s didn´t really even do anything about it. That´s how lax things are here. Other things that happened that were awesome this week happened yesterday. One of our investigators came to church by herself (I really didn´t think she would show up unless we went to her house beforehand which we didn’t) so that was awesome and then another one of our investigators who´s only 14ish brought his brother to church and that was awesome and then the same investigator got up in sacrament and bore his testimony and he´s not even baptized yet! He´s so awesome. His baptismal date is in 2 weeks so were really excited about that.
Oh Transfers! I didn´t even write about that yet hehe. Well that’s because nothing really happened for us. Our zone leaders are still the same and only 1 person got transferred out of our district and she got sent to fogo and were receiving an native African sister but she´s not from here and I don’t think she speaks Portuguese so idk how that’s going to work. So me and E. Moreira are still companions so yay. Oh and I think I kinda figured out how mail works here. Well for missionaries. So we have district meetings once a week and I think every other week the secretaries bring mail to those so that’s how often we get mail here in Praia IDK about other places. Most likely less often. I love you all and miss you.
