Email from 8/15/11

Yes that the entire population (of Cape Verde) is either really super old or under 21 and has 3 kids. We have 2 investigators that are over 18 so that's always fun. Well this Saturday we should be having 3 baptisms so that's fun. a 13 yr old and 2 17 yr olds. Well I don't have too much to write this week but I'll tell you about one of our new investigators that we found. His name is Pai (dad). He was brought to church by a friend and he had crazy rasta hair which is actually quite normal but we mark an appointment with him and we go to his house and we get there and he had cut his hair which was weird and I didn't even recognize him when I saw him at first. So instead of teaching him we take him to the chapel for a baptism and he liked it and said he wanted to be baptized. So we went to his house and we talked to him for a little bit about baptism and about the word of wisdom and we ended up giving him a blessing so he could stop smoking and we seem him every once and a while in the roads and he is so much happier now and he's smiling and he always comes up to us and we give him a hug and stuff it's awesome! He's really cool and he's defiantly going to be a leader of the church one day. He already knows a ton about the gospel and has read the bible and parts of the book of Mormon and he wants to read the D&C and were actually going to go teach him in a little bit AH! Well can't right too much more but have a good week the gospel is true don't buy a goat farm and bless your meals before you eat them or you'll get worms in your stomachs!

love
